Deployment

Deploying packages and applications is a necessary part of using an application server such as EAServer. You can use a number of options to move your EAServer components, packages, applications, and Web applications from your development environment to one or more production servers.

Deploying Applications

An application is a unit of deployment for related packages and Web applications. Applications can be archived in the standard J2EE Enterprise Archive (EAR) format. You can also use the proprietary Jaguar JAR format. Applications that have been archived to J2EE EAR format or Jaguar JAR format can be imported (deployed) using Jaguar Manager. You can also use jagtool and jagant to automate the process of importing these files.
