How XML Can Be Used By PowerBuilder in a Distributed Application
PowerBuilder is certainly not being left behind with regard to using XML. As previously mentioned, the PDF print capabilities added to PowerBuilder v9 are implemented using XSL-FO. XML comes into play in PowerBuilder in a number of other ways. In the next few sections, we discuss some ways that XML is being integrated into or used by PowerBuilder. Some of these topics are covered in detail in other chapters and are noted as such. We also show an example of how XML is used in an application that we're currently working on.
