The overview assumes only that you can perform addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division and have a little familiarity with basic algebra—specifically, methods for finding a single unknown in an equation. If you have taken high school algebra, trigonometry, and geometry courses or their equivalent, this material will be a refresher for you.
