It's worth its weight in gold, in terms of what it allows me to do.
13 DATA MIGRATION TESTING
Here I will look at the aspects of testing within PDMv3 that are specific to data migration and I will reveal a few testing techniques that I have found useful. I will also look at how generic testing practices apply to data migration.
A word of warning: if you are reading this section hoping for a silver bullet to fix a failing project in the testing, then I am going to disappoint you. You test defects out, but you build quality in. You can no more create a world-beating race car by testing and retesting a family saloon than you can correct fundamental defects in a data migration project by iterative testing. ...
