Your first task is to stabilize the situation. There is often the temptation to just carry on doing more of whatever you were doing before. Resist it! Follow the points below to get out of the mire and back onto the sunny uplands of a well-managed migration project:
1. Read this book. Come on now, I know that in panic, or desperate hope, you have picked this book up and gone straight to this chapter. I know I would. Well, you need to understand the Golden Rules and the key concepts covered in the first couple of chapters. OK, maybe the rest of the book you can skim over, but when I start talking about Data Stakeholders and Data Quality Rules it will help if you understand where I am coming from.
