Appendix AGraphical Content Queries

The previous chapters showed the syntax for DMX queries and involved entering the syntax manually in SSMS. However, it is possible to generate the DMX syntax behind the scenes using the graphical user interface. The appendixes show various ways of running DMX queries graphically, without the need to enter any syntax. This first appendix demonstrates how to return data mining model content using graphical tools. In particular, it uses both SSMS and Excel 2007/2010 to generate Content queries graphically and to display the results graphically, too.
