In this section you will find lesson ideas, games and activities which aim to develop children’s number, shape, space, measuring and handling data skills.

Many of the ideas have a physical (kinaesthetic) element, and there are lots of exciting activities to help stimulate children in Mathematics/Numeracy lessons.

Nearly all the activities are adaptable to use as a mental/oral starter, or extendable to use as a main lesson activity.

Some of the activities make use of standard classroom mathematics equipment such as a counting stick or digit cards, while others can be taught without resources.
