Apache for Enterprise-Level Fault Tolerance
Web services are the foundation of applications hosted on the Internet. This chapter covers the Apache HTTP Server, which is run on a majority of Internet web sites. The Apache Software Foundation (ASF) is discussed briefly, followed by an in-depth analysis of HTTP and then of Apache HTTP. The HTTP load balancer HAProxy is studied, and a brief summary of the failover software Keepalived is provided.
