How to do it...

To install and configure Squid on our system, we have to follow these steps:

The first step is to install the Squid package using the following command:

As soon as Squid is installed, it will start running with a default configuration, which is defined to block all the HTTP/HTTPS traffic on the network. To check this, we just need to configure the browser on any system on the network to use the IP address of the Proxy system, as shown here:
