Making the Most of the Screen Utility
The “screen” utility is the tool that every sysadmin should not be able to live without. It allows you to put your SSH session on hold and return to it whenever you like, from anywhere. It’s widely supported across the Unix-type flavors and thankfully it is really simple to get working despite its more advanced aspects, which admittedly encourage eye-strain. This chapter provides a refresher on some of the screen utility’s excellent functionality.
