Using the linuxconf Utility
The linuxconf utility is an attempt to provide a consistent front end to the many configuration files in Linux. Part of the goal of linuxconf is not only to be able to make changes to your Linux configuration, but also to make those changes active, restarting daemons if necessary. Flexibility and configurability is achieved through the use of modules. Each module allows configuration of a particular aspect, such as mounting hard drives, configuring the Apache Web server, or administering user accounts.
