The objective of this chapter is to introduce the areas of quality management and risk management. The chapter begins with definitions of both topics and outlines how they are connected. It proceeds with an introduction to quality management, including brief presentations of quality management systems, graphical methods used to analyze quality, the setting of quality standards, robust quality methods, statistical process control, and Six Sigma.
