AAC Abbreviation for Advanced Audio Code. A relatively new compressed audio file format, AAC offers better sound quality than MP3, but with less storage space and bandwidth. It’s also used with Digital Rights Management technology to help control the copying and distributing of music.
AAF Abbreviation for Advanced Authoring Format; www.aafassociation.org/html/technoinfo/index.html. An industry standard for high-end exchange of video or audio project data.
A-B A listening comparison between two audio programs, or between two components playing the same program, performed by switching immediately from one to the other. The levels of the two signals are matched. See also Spaced-pair.
