A study by University College London has found that cognitive impairments have more than doubled in the last decade.1 This number is staggering, albeit a little misleading, because we now understand more about these disabilities than we’ve ever done before. We now know, for example, that over 55 million people worldwide live with dementia, and there are around 10 million new cases per year.
