THE SELF-ASSESSMENT PROCESS

Transformation is change that can be seen, in this case, in a person’s leadership behavior. Change is a departure from the status quo. Thus, significant transformational change by a leader can transform the nature of the organization and its members (Palmer, Dunford, & Akin, 2009).
As noted above, for personal and organization transformation to happen, leaders must first examine themselves. Self-assessment requires time, dedication, and a willingness to learn about yourself from others. And it is a futile effort unless there is a willingness to believe what has been heard and a desire exists to act on the assessment by taking steps toward change.
