Term | Definition |
Business Data Portfolio | A top‐of‐mind list of reporting and analytical capabilities for measuring and improving business outcomes that is aligned to data subject areas creating a foundation for establishing cross‐functional priority for development activities. The Portfolio helps to promote the reuse of data assets. |
Business Rule | A definition of how data should be treated to reflect business definitions or how the business operates. |
Business Sponsor | Business executive responsible for defining enterprise strategies and objectives for data usage, promoting, and funding the DG program and encouraging adoption. |
Business Stakeholder | Individuals or groups with a vested interest in the final product; a group or individuals that have a vested interest in or are affected by the outcome of a decision concerning data practices or definitions. |
Data Administration | Data Management capability defined as the day‐to‐day administration of data and databases. |
Data Architecture | Data Management capability defined as the models, policies, rules, and standards about what data is captured, how it is stored, arranged, and integrated (includes data analysis, data modeling, data design). |
Data Governance Program Management | The Program Management function ensures that DG is executing consistently and effectively across focus areas. The team will also communicate performance indicators and program metrics across the divisions. |
