Starting/Setting Up Photoshop

It is assumed you are computer literate enough to know how to launch the program. You may be launching from a shortcut on your desktop, an icon on your Mac’s dock, through the applications or programs menu, or via an app square on Windows 8. With the variety of environments and settings available, it becomes even more important to make sure that your Photoshop is set to the manufacturer’s default settings.

Photoshop saves information from your last session in a preference file. Positions of the panels, certain settings, and any selections you make in the Preference dialog box are all recorded in this preference file. You need to make sure there are no customized preferences ...
