Chapter NineTHE 16 PERSONALITY TYPES
By now, you should know the personality type that best fits with your typical behavior patterns. In this chapter, we will describe each of the 16 types in more detail, with information like communication style, work preferences, strengths, blind spots, and more.
You can feel free to skip ahead to your type. Make sure to check back and read through the others, especially if you learn that one of your close connections, friends, or family members has a particular type (this is the one thing you should do if you want to see an immediate life impact from reading this book).
TYPE D: THE CAPTAIN
People with the D (Captain) personality type tend to be assertive, intense, and ambitious. They are usually pragmatic, results-oriented executors who work quickly and make decisions with firmness and objectivity.
With a position on the top left of the Personality Map (see Figure 9.1), Captains prefer more independence and may be drained when others expect them to be more collaborative. They also may prefer to be in control over a situation, rather than in a position to react to others.
