Using the Commands Palette

In addition to using keyboard shortcuts, you can save time by using the Commands palette. This palette can spare you from hunting down a command buried in submenus and permits you to create custom shortcuts.

The commands in the palette work like buttons when the palette is set to button mode. When button mode is inactive, you can also add, delete, and modify commands in the palette. You can create and save sets of commands for different phases of editing, then load each set as needed.

To toggle button mode:

If the Commands palette is not visible, click the Commands tab in a grouped palette or choose Window > Show Commands. The Commands palette appears, and is selected.

In the palette menu, choose Button Mode ...
