Setting In and Out Points
Setting in points and out points is central to all editing. An in point is where you want the clip to start playing, and an out point is where you want the clip to stop playing. The length of time between the in and out points is called the duration.
When you edit, you can set in and out points for both the source clips and the program. In Premiere, you can accomplish this essential editing task in many ways. In the chapters to follow, you’ll learn many other ways to set and change in and out points.
