Trimming Clips in the Timeline

To perform simple trimming in the timeline, you don’t need to select a special tool. The default tool, the selection tool, automatically switches to a trim tool when you position it at a clip edge in the timeline.

To trim a clip in the timeline:

Using the selection tool do either of the following:
  • To trim the in point, position the pointer on the left edge of a clip in the timeline.

    The pointer becomes the trim in tool .

  • To trim the out point, position the pointer on the right edge of a clip in the timeline.
