Previewing the Work Area

The other previewing methods—previewing to disk, to hardware, and to screen—all preview a specified segment of the project, called the work area. You can define the work area with, appropriately, the work area bar. The work area bar is the yellow bar located in a thin band (the work area track) near the top of the Timeline window (Figure 9.9). The clips in the timeline located under the bar are included in previews. You can also export the work area, as explained in Chapter 15, “Creating Output.” Premiere automatically sets the work area bar over all the clips in the project, extending it as clips are added. However, you can reset the work area bar manually.
