Using Multiply and Screen Keys

The multiply and screen options blend a clip with a clip in a lower track, based on luminance values taken from both clips. Multiply averages the product of the pixel values of the clip and the underlying image. The resulting image is darker than both, and never brighter than the original. Multiply preserves the black areas of the clip, while allowing the underlying image to show through the brighter areas (Figure 13.28). Screen uses inverse luminance values in its calculation.
