This Is the End…and Just the Beginning

As we bring our journey together to a curtain close, you may have mixed feelings right now. Perhaps you're buzzing with excitement over your rockin' new toolset. Or perhaps you're feeling overwhelmed, frustrated, or doubtful about how you're going to put all of this into practice.

I find that my course and workshop students experience a mix of both. But I observe they also experience immense relief. Something along the lines of, “I knew this whole time that something wasn't right, but I had no idea what it was.”

I liken this reaction to receiving a long-awaited diagnosis of a chronic illness. Imagine finally discovering the answers to an affliction that has caused years of pain and suffering. Aside from feeling relief, you've gained a treatment plan because you now understand the root cause.

And, as with learning the diagnosis, the first questions usually asked are, “Can I really resolve this? Will things actually get better?” I believe the answer is yes!

When I stepped on that very first tech conference stage many years ago, facing down an audience of hundreds of industry practitioners, experts, and even my former boss, I was wracked with fear and doubt. Every limiting belief I had threatened to swallow me whole. Yet, I marched toward my deepest fears armed with passion, skills, and a faith that I had the power to facilitate a transformation for the audience.
