After preparing with notes, your next step is to consider visual aids.
Do you really need slides?
Slides often serve three purposes: speaker notes, handouts and visual aids.
Speaker notes: you’ve got notes to remember what you’re going to say, so no slides needed here.
Handouts: if you’d like people to have a takeaway after the talk, create a handout separately from any slides you’re going to use during your talk. You can either make a physical document or, if you’re sharing your slides online, a set with enough detail to stand alone without you there to talk about them.
