The analysis of section for a given prestressing force and applied loading is already discussed in Chapter 5. This chapter deals with the design of prestressed concrete members, which can be considered as the reverse of analysis. That is, given the applied loads and skeletal dimension of the member, it is required to arrive at suitable cross-sectional dimensions, prestressing force and tendon profile that would provide adequate safety and serviceability.
