1. What Is Preventive Photoshop?
HOW MANY TIMES have you heard the phrase “I’ll just fix it in Photoshop,” and then discovered that “fixing” an image means hours in front of your computer? While Adobe Photoshop is a marvelous and powerful tool, the facility with which it lets us alter images has resulted in sloppy photographic habits—poor lighting, bad exposure, deathly shadows, and overblown highlights. Wouldn’t it be better—and easier—to take the time to shoot the photograph right in the first place, thus minimizing the backbreaking hours hunched over a keyboard? Wouldn’t you rather capture your image correctly so you can use Photoshop for fine adjustments and (dare I say) have a lot more fun?
