Chapter 4. Discovering the Prezi Desktop

As valuable as Prezi is as an online application, there may be times when working offline on your computer makes sense. When you're traveling or working from a remote location, you don't always have Internet access. With Prezi Desktop, you can still work on your presentation offline when the mood strikes.

After you've downloaded and installed Prezi Desktop, you can do all the same things you could do online except one: You can't publish your prezi. For that, you still have to go online.

In this chapter, you find out how to download Prezi Desktop and set it up to use offline.

Downloading the Offline Editor

One of the great benefits of working from your computer is that you're not restricted by the size of the files you want to upload. This means that video or other large files in your presentation aren't limited by the amount of space you have in your online account. You're limited only by your own hard drive space.

Prezi Desktop is available only to users with a Pro or Edu Pro license. You can try Prezi Desktop if you opt for the free 30-day trial version, so you can decide whether you want to purchase the Pro version after the trial is up.

Your Pro or Edu Pro account allows you to download Prezi Desktop to three of your computers. This should be sufficient for most users. The application works with Windows, Mac, or Linux, ...
