Privacy issues can originate from many places. A consumer may call a company, send an e-mail, fill out an online form, or contact a regulatory agency such as the Federal Trade Commission to complain about a privacy infraction against the company. A PRC member may even enter a new privacy issue as the result of a news article from a newspaper or news report that was heard on radio or television. In general, a privacy issue can be reported to anyone or by anyone in a company. No matter what the origin of an issue is, the privacy concern should be placed in the PRC's database for tracking.
