Understanding Contacts

We indicated early in this chapter that your personal profile on the device is treated differently than any other regular contact. However, the personal profile contact and the rest of contacts share the same underlying architecture. When you understand contacts, it becomes easier to understand personal profiles as well. With that insight, we will cover the details of contacts first and follow up this discussion with the details of personal profiles in a subsequent section.
