Android Virtual Devices: Setting Up Wearables Application Emulators
Now that you have an overview of the features in Android Studio, this chapter will discuss Android virtual devices (AVD), which are software emulators.
The reason that these are important is because they allow you to test your Pro Android wearables application more rapidly, without having to transfer your APK file to a hardware device via a USB cable (although you did install the latest USB driver in Chapter 4 in case you want to do this) every time you want to test your application’s Java code or XML markup.
