When you installed Drupal 7 for the first time, you were asked to select the installation profile that you wanted to use as the starting point for your new Drupal site. The options presented to you were Standard and Minimal. Each option represents a pre-defined approach for how Drupal is installed, including options such as what modules are enabled, what content types are created, what theme is selected and enabled, and what blocks are enabled and assigned to regions.
