Backup, Restore, and Disaster Recovery in Exchange Server 2013

One of the things a typical Exchange Server administrator doesn’t want to talk about is restoring information or disaster recovery, because it can be so very difficult in Exchange 2013. The first part, backing up data, is not that difficult; you just install a backup application and have it run on a regular basis. So far, no need to worry.

But what happens if a mailbox database crashes and you’ve got complaining users? What do you do then? What’s a good time to start looking at tools like ESEUTIL? Or, when do you decide to restore a mailbox database from your backup?
