APPENDIX CUsing XMLSpy with InfoPath

Since InfoPath is completely XML-based, it makes sense that to work with form templates, you should probably have a good XML tool in your back pocket. If you're using Visual Studio 2005 anyway, it offers a lot of strong XML capabilities, but it can be a bit of overkill simply as an XML tool. Altova's XMLSpy (, on the other hand, is a great fit because it is simply an XML tool. Admittedly, it's a very powerful XML tool—an XML Swiss army knife, if you will.

In this appendix, I'm going to go over some scenarios in which XMLSpy can make your life working with InfoPath form templates easier.
