Quantifying Value
Adopting better practices is about adding value to the development process. Common sense says that development is more effective when you follow sound principles, good practices, established guidelines, and known success paths. Similarly, development is more effective when you avoid erroneous ideas, bad practices, mistaken techniques, and failure paths. Unfortunately, common sense is not common practice. Switching to a new and different practice involves a change away from current habits and routines.
