Chapter 3. RAC Concepts
Within this chapter we introduce the concepts that underlie the successful implementation of a RAC on a Linux environment. This chapter details the most important components and terminologies you will experience when using RAC and provides the foundation for subsequent chapters where we investigate these technologies in depth.
We will introduce the software and applications implemented at the Oracle Clusterware level. We will then take a closer look at the RAC database, in terms of its structure and instances, parameters, and processes.
