Chapter 11. Configuring and Verifying Linux
This chapter describes the steps required to configure the Linux operating system in preparation for an Oracle 10g RAC installation. The emphasis is placed on an Unbreakable Linux configuration of Red Hat Enterprise Linux 4.0 or SUSE Linux Enterprise Server 9 on x86, x86-64, and Itanium architecture systems. Our aim is also not to simply list the configuration changes required, but to explain the reasons for them and their effects, enabling the intelligent optimization of each individual environment.
