People Search
People Search has always been a popular tool for finding individuals in an organization via a company SharePoint-based Intranet. SharePoint 2007 introduced people search around the user profile paradigm and allowed administrators to configure the SharePoint search engine to surface profile data by indexing User Profile Property field data (see previous sections of this chapter for more on User Profiles and Properties). People search is a powerful tool in an organization, which SharePoint 2010 improves by including tagging and enhanced profile capabilities into the search mixture.
