Architecting for Disaster Recovery in the Cloud
In this section I will show how SharePoint in the cloud is possible. The key point is that the content, users, and code from different tenants can be isolated from one another. Tenants who opt for dedicated hardware are treated better than those who share space with others: Standard SharePoint Online only supports a 30-day Recycle Bin and 14-day DR backup to tape. Full backups are only done every 12 hours and stored for 14 days. Dedicated SharePoint Online gives you 30 days backed up to tape. This is a large difference.
