Cloud Benefits
First, let’s look at the rationale of deploying SharePoint in to the cloud rather than on-premises. In this section, I’ll talk about capacity- and agility-related benefits of the cloud. There are, of course, many benefits to cloud hosting that are not directly related to HA, and I won’t talk about all of them here. However, do keep in mind that there are a number of indirect HA benefits. For example, low cost of ownership means SharePoint is less likely to be a budget-cut victim, thereby making low cost a resilience benefit.
