Work Hard and Don’t Take Shortcuts

Unfortunately, there are no shortcuts to a successful implementation of SharePoint. There has to be consensus and an appropriate expenditure of resources. There is prevalent a business philosophy that makes the assumption that any attempt to do things in a methodical way is just wasting resources and the best way is always the quickest way. This approach can perhaps lead to success in the short term. However, as time passes, the results of this management approach become evident. Forging ahead without following a plan starts a process but it can’t anticipate any complexity. The reflex reaction is to throw more resources at the problem without attempting to understand it.
