Configuring a SharePoint farm involves setting many individual controls; we will examine some of the most important settings and discuss the options available. We will break these settings into two groups: those configured at the farm level and those that apply to a specific web application. Most of the options that are configured at the site and site collection level were covered in Chapter 6, since these are more relevant to managing content than to managing the farm as a whole.
