Understanding the SharePoint Sandbox
Running code in an isolated process, called the sandbox, is a new feature in SharePoint 2010. Code running in the sandbox is prevented from accessing resources outside the sandbox through a series of proxies that regulate what APIs can be called successfully. This feature is referred to as either the SharePoint User Code Service or the SharePoint Sandboxed Code Service. This section explores the architecture of this service and how it can be used to manage the operations of the farm.
