It's worth its weight in gold, in terms of what it allows me to do.

Endpoints and Adapters
An endpoint describes how application code communicates with the messaging framework. An endpoint also hides the complexity of interacting with the messaging system, allowing the developer to focus on the business logic instead of the details of how to send and receive messages.
