By now you’ve all heard about “Big Data,” and the way people talk about it, you might think it’s as overwhelmingly large as the universe. If you’re like most database administrators, you likely already work with data that is big. You probably spend your professional time managing multiple databases that are terabytes in size or larger, and continue to grow. The size of data has exceeded Moore’s Law, more than doubling every 24 months and making the DBAs job a challenge, to say the least. There’s never been anything small about what you do.
