9. Working with Selections
Making selections is the basis of almost all editing in Pro Tools. You select material in tracks to perform basic editing tasks such as cutting and pasting. You also use selections to create regions, the building blocks of a session.
This chapter shows how to set the time scale and use the grid to help make selections, explains the two types of selections (Timeline selections and Edit selections), and covers the basics of selecting material in the Edit window.
The techniques described here apply to both Audio and MIDI tracks.
