Working with Code
At the beginning of this book, in the introduction, I made a claim that Vim isn’t only for programmers, and that it is, in fact, a very serviceable text editor for many users, whether they be system operators, authors, or students. If you work with text, you will find immense value in working with Vim.
Now that that’s out of the way, let me clarify (for present purposes): if you’re not a programmer, this chapter is going to be a bit of a bore, as it covers techniques and plug-ins related directly to programming. I’ll be covering a select few languages, such as Ruby, Clojure, PHP, JavaScript, and Node.
