The Search Contract
Windows defines a series of contracts, which Windows apps can implement to integrate with key platform-wide services. These contracts set out a model for interaction between the app and the operating system for a particular feature. In this chapter, I introduce you to the search contract, which allows an app to participate seamlessly in the Windows search mechanism, allowing the user to find data in your app in exactly the same way that he locates files and apps in the operating system.
