Using Toast and the System Launcher
In this chapter, I show you how to use toast notifications, which are a more direct and intrusive mechanism for attracting the user’s attention. Toast notifications are a complement to the more subtle tile notifications and badges I showed you in the previous chapter and are used for more important or urgent information. Like any kind of notification, toasts should be used thoughtfully and sparingly – too few notifications and your user won’t get the cues and reminders they expect, and too many will fatigue and annoy the user.
