Working with Sensors

Windows 8 supports a sensor framework that you can use to get information about the conditions in which the device is operating. I describe most frequently encountered sensors in this chapter, starting with the location sensor, with which you can determine where in the world the device is being used.

Windows will try and determine the device location even if there is no special location-sensing hardware in the device, such as a GPS receiver.
